Overview

The community health practice program focuses on understanding social, economic, cultural, inter-organizational, and geographic factors to promote and protect the health of communities. Students learn to evaluate, develop, and implement programs. Upon graduating, our students go on to bridge gaps between theory-based interventions and practical application, often working directly with community members to create grassroots partnerships and programming that support population health needs.

The MPH in Community Health Practice focuses on the application of public health sciences at the community level and emphasizes systematic analysis and appropriate use of quantitative and qualitative health data. Faculty and students are concerned with the assessment of population health, the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health programs in community settings, and the appraisal of community-level effects of health policies and programs.
