General Information
Dual degrees offer students the opportunity to complete two graduate-level degrees at the same time. It is managed by the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services. In some instances, credit may be shared between the two institutions, helping students complete their degrees faster together than they would separately.

Admission Requirements
Applicants to any dual degree program must apply separately to each program, and admission to one program does not guarantee admission to the other.

Overview
Students interested in dentistry and public health may study concurrently for a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from UTHealth Houston School of Public Health and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UTHealth School of Dentistry. This program is open to current first- and second-year DDS students or those who received admission to the DDS/MPH program concurrently with the approval of the DDS/MPH Program Coordinator.
Students pursuing a dual degree are entered into the Customized MPH plan at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.
Dual degree students must complete all partner program degree requirements and apply for graduation from the partner institution to be eligible for MPH degree conferral. In most cases, degree conferral for both programs must occur in the same semester.
